McMillan Magnet Center

McMillan Magnet Center is a 6th, 7th and 8th grade middle school that offers rigorous courses in Mathematics, Technology and Engineering while maintaining a balance in all curricular areas.  McMillan is the only middle school in the state of Nebraska to offer Project Lead the Way (PLTW) courses which are STEM-based classes such as Honors Automation & Robotics, Honors Design & Modeling, Honors Science of Technology, Medical Detectives, Green Architecture, and Computer Science.  At McMillan, students are challenged with a variety of hands-on opportunities.  We work collaboratively with community partners such as Kiewit Engineering, Methodist Nursing College, the Omaha Police Department Crime Lab, and TACK Architects to provide student experiences unlike any other.

Sixth Grade Information

We are excited to announce that McMillan will have 6th grade students for the 2016-17 school year!

We ask 5th grade students and parents to read below:

Why put 6th grade students into the 7th-8th grade building?

  • Better address early adolescent development
  • Increase exploratory options
  • Increase teaming opportunities for teachers and students
  • Allow for greater parental involvement
  • Provide more consistent grade configuration for 6th grade in the District
  • Open needed space in elementary schools for expanded access to early childhood education

Meeting date for interested parents and students,
  • November 5, 6:00-7:00pm in the McMillan Auditorium.

Home attendance schools are: Belvedere, Druid Hill, Florence, Miller Park, Minne Lusa, Saratoga, Sherman and Skinner. We welcome your attendance for an informational meeting and tour.
