Congratulations to the McMillan's Science Olympiad Team for their 3rd Place finish in the State Competition

Congratulations to the McMillan's Science Olympiad Team. McMillan finished 3rd place in the state competition scoring more points and finishing higher than we ever have.

This is the third year in a row that McMillan has placed in the top 5 at the state meet.


This years team consisted of Annelyn Bateman, Zach Chytil, Brock Erickson, Marry Grayson-Pattar, Erick Hernandez, Jesus Hernandez-Fabela, Alex Hotovy, Chris Kathka, Kyrie Kellogg, Grace Siy, Derek Smith, Richard Stockton-Hoover, Madison Sutula, Gavin Olsen, Kayla Urbino.  Participants in the Trial Events were Elliot Jones and Vinith Sharma.

Congratulations to Primwad Poudel 8th grader at McMillan Magnet Center.

Congratulations to Primwad Poudel 8th grader at McMillan Magnet Center. Primwad was a member of a 4 player chess team that finished 2nd in the under 14 age division at the Anatoly Karpov International Chess Tournament this weekend in McPherson, Kansas.

Great Job Primwad!

Congratulations Nick Tuma - Top 10 State Geography Bee Finish!

Nick Tuma was one of six students to make it through eight preliminary rounds at the State Geography Bee today with no errors.

In the final competition, Nick was eliminated after three rounds and placed either 9th or 10th (two students were eliminated).

Congratulations to the McMillan B Quiz Bowl Team for their 5th place finish in the City Quiz Bowl Championship

At Tuesday's City Quiz Bowl Championship, the McMillan B team progressed through a tough bracket and finished 5th.  Members of the B team are Cole Horner, Chris Kathka, Ted Kilroy, Vinith Sharma, and Kelsey Thomas.

Congratulations to the City Champions Quiz Bowl team!

In match #1 Tuesday morning, the McMillan A team of Alex Hotovy, Sam Planck, Grace Siy, Maddie Sutula competed against last year's nemesis, the Buffett A team and lost 140-135. 

The A team recovered, working through seven more rounds, only to meet the Buffett A team again in the final match.  Because Buffett hadn't yet lost, we had to beat them twice and that's exactly what the Monarchs did.

Congratulations to Devashish Neupane and Madison Sutula for being chosen as Big Red Stars from McMillan

Devashish Neupane and Madison Sutula have been chosen as Big Red Stars from McMillan.  Big Red Stars is the University of Nebraska-Lincoln program that honors two 8th grade students from each Nebraska School based on Leadership and Academics and Diversity and overcoming adversity.  Madison Sutula is our representative for Learship and academics and Devashish Neupane for Diversity and overcoming adversity.
