Congratulations to Max A., who has qualified for the State Geography Bee to be held at UNO on April 4, 2014. Over 11,000 Nebraska students participated in this year’s Geography Bee and we are very proud of Max, who is one of the top 100 students in Nebraska.
Did you know that in the last decade, McMillan is the only OPS school to have a state Geography Bee qualifier every year!
Historically, our Monarch geographers have done well at the state contest. Nathan Kellogg was runner up in 2008, Nick Tuma made the top ten in 2011, and Sam Messbarger finished 3rd in 2013.
Many thanks to our Social Studies teachers for supporting this event!
